A Shepard is a person who herds, tends, and guards sheep, and metaphorically, someone who guides or leads others.
Literal Meaning: A Shepard is primarily a person employed to care for sheep, ensuring their safety, feeding them, shearing wool, and protecting them from predators.
This role requires Pastors and Church Leadership to manage the flock’s well-being and safeguard the most vulnerable.”
It is the duty of the Pastor to Shepard his flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3:
"Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind."
